We are looking for 3 Family Workers to work in East Locality.
These are exciting posts where you will be working in a Family Help team in Children's Services. You will be part of our new Pathfinder model where we work in an integrated team alongside our social care colleagues. We need people who are energetic and quick learners to join the existing teams. You will be supporting our Family Help team, which will involve direct work with children and their families; creating, supporting and contributing to multi-agency plans and interventions to improve outcomes and life chances for children and young people in Dorset. These are 2 permanent and 1 fixed term (12 months) positions and this is an exciting opportunity to support families in Dorset. You will be working with a supportive team who have a wealth of knowledge and skills that you will be able to learn from.
This role will be responsible for the delivery of support to children, young people and families in localities, taking a whole family approach.
At Grade 8 The Post Holder Will
1. Deliver direct work with children, young people, parents and families in the family home and other community locations.
2. Convene and attend Team Around the Family (TAF) meetings, family plan and reviews.
3. Use relevant case management systems, databases and business intelligence tools as directed by the team manager.
4. Provide information, advice and guidance to children, young people and families.
5. Co-work cases with other professionals including social workers.
6. Assess parenting skills and help to build physical and emotional caring abilities through a range of practical activities.
7. Deliver parenting and behaviour management support to children and families.
8. Keep up to date with knowledge of local service provision.
9. Coach, mentor and motivate families to make and sustain change.
10. Support families during crisis situations.
11. Support schools in the local area by being their link worker between family help and schools.
12. You will have experience of working with and supporting children and or families.
13. You will be dedicated to improving outcomes for Dorset's children and young people.
14. You will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and used to working in a fast-paced environment.
15. You will be able to work as part of a team and also use your own initiative.
