Cann Bridge School, a progressive special school for children and young people aged 4 to 19 with severe learning difficulties, is seeking an exceptional Class Teacher to join our dedicated team. As a Class Teacher, you will deliver high-quality education and create personalised lesson plans tailored to each learner's unique needs. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, manage class-based support staff, and integrate educational goals with necessary therapeutic interventions to help learners achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will also contribute to the development of the curriculum across the school. Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality, adapted lessons to learners with severe learning difficulties.
• Create and implement Personalised Learning Goals (IEPs) for each learner in your class.
• Collaborate with other teachers and professionals to design and implement effective teaching strategies.
• Use a range of teaching methods and techniques to engage and motivate learners with different learning needs.
• Provide regular feedback to parents and carers on the progress of their child.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance your knowledge and skills.
• Use positive behaviour support strategies consistently in line with the school’s policies and procedures.
• Ensure that all school policies and procedures are followed at all times.
• Manage a dedicated team of teaching assistants.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Relevant Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS).
• Knowledge of a range of teaching strategies and techniques for learners with special educational needs.
• Experience in creating and implementing individualised education plans (IEPs).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development.
