The Ley Inn in Chorley are recruiting for a Trainee Chef. The sucessful candidate will work towards their Level 2 Catering and Hospitality qualification which will take approximately 16 months to complete.
Duties:
• Preparing fresh food within a kitchen environment
• Locally sourced produce
• General housekeeping within the kitchen
• Knife work
• Use of kitchen appliances
• Pastry and baking working
• Washing, cutting and preparing vegetables
• Preparing meat and fish such as chicken, steak, pork
• Ensure allergens and intolerances are taken seriously
• Health and safety
• Food waste management
Requirements:
• 5 days a week shift to be confirmed earliest start time 9am latest 10pm
• Must have a passion for food and cooking
• Teamworking
• Punctuality and attendance
• Clean and hygienic
• Good communicator and listener
Grades:
No formal qualifications required.
Hours:
Rota basis Earliest start time 9:00am - Latest finish 10:00pm / breaks depend on shift / 40 hours per week
