Senior Wastewater Modeller - Contract (Hybrid Working - Primarily Remote)

About the Role
We are working with a leading engineering consultancy delivering AMP8 projects across the UK water sector. They are seeking an experienced Wastewater Modeller to support nationwide wastewater infrastructure projects. This is a contract role offering up to £500 per day (Inside IR35) with hybrid working based in Birmingham.
The role involves developing and maintaining hydraulic models for wastewater networks, conducting network analysis, flood risk assessments, and capacity planning, and working closely with major UK water authorities.
Key Responsibilities
·Develop and maintain hydraulic models of wastewater networks using InfoWorks ICM.
·Conduct capacity assessments, flood risk analysis, and pollution impact studies.
·Analyse and interpret flow survey data, rainfall data, and network performance metrics.
·Support optioneering and feasibility studies for wastewater network improvements.
·Work closely with water authorities, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust modelling solutions.
·Provide technical input on sewer rehabilitation, stormwater management, and drainage strategy development.
·Ensure compliance with UK Water Industry Standards and regulatory requirements.
·Prepare technical reports, model outputs, and GIS-based visualisations to support project delivery.
Requirements
·Degree (BSc/MSc) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
·Proven experience in wastewater network modelling using InfoWorks ICM.
·Strong understanding of hydrodynamic modelling, sewerage asset planning, and flow monitoring.
·Experience working on AMP projects or with UK water authorities.
·Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) for spatial analysis and data management.
·Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
·Knowledge of industry regulations (DCG, WINEP, WFD, Sewerage Rehabilitation Planning).
·Experience with Python or SQL scripting for model automation (desirable but not essential).
