Here in North Yorkshire our vision is to enable people to live longer, healthier and independent lives, as outlined in “Our plan for Health and Adult Services in North Yorkshire 2022-2025”.
Key to this objective is to enable more working age adults to seek and retain paid employment. Our Supported Employment team here at Health and Adult Services supports us to achieve this outcome. We now have an exciting opportunity for a motivated person with a passion for people and who recognises the beneficial impact and outcomes of employment to join us here in Health and Adult Services as a Supported Employment Coordinator.
The successful candidate will provide support to people with Care Act Eligible needs ensuring that they use person-centred approaches to support working age adults and carers with eligible needs to find, maintain and retain employment, increasing people's independence, and improving health and wellbeing. The team supports people whose goal is to succeed in paid work, gain a work placement or potential work trials, supported internships or apprenticeships. They also can support people already in the workplace to maintain or retain their employment.
There will be 1 full time post available. The successful candidate will work closely with community, voluntary and statutory partners and maintain partnerships with appropriate agencies including the Job Centre, DWP and employers. They will be responsible for ensuring employment is a core outcome for people supported across the health and social care pathway and offer advice and guidance to other staff teams and colleagues in Health and Adult Services.
You will work as part of a county wide team working across North Yorkshire; however, most of the work will be undertaken across the geographical area of Harrogate and Knaresborough. The ability to travel as part of the job is therefore essential.
As well as a fantastic benefits package, we offer an excellent programme of professional support, supervision and training and the opportunity to develop your own skills with a range of complex and varied work.
