PR Advisor

About this role:
We are recruiting a PR Advisor to support Pinsent Masons’ Groups. In particular, this includes supporting Pinsent Masons Vario, which offers a range of professional services to our clients, including freelance lawyer provision, legal project management, legal technology consultancy, company secretarial support and managed legal services.
This role sits within the PR team, part of the central Corporate Communications team which comprises of communications professionals across PR, marketing communications, content, digital and design.
Reporting to the Head of PR, the role will involve collaborating closely with Vario’s Head of Marketing, Group heads, lawyers and professional services specialists across the firm, including Business Development leads, to deliver integrated thought leadership campaigns via the firm's marketing teams and communications channels.
This role will be required to create and implement a media relations strategy which is closely aligned to business development objectives in Pinsent Masons' Groups function and to take a hands-on role in generating coverage in the UK through the development of media communications collateral.
The PR Advisor role will also collaborate with the APAC and EMEA Communications Managers to maintain global alignment of messaging.

We are looking for an experienced PR professional who understands how to quickly embed themselves within the firm and can work consultatively and collaboratively as a trusted adviser with senior stakeholders and business operations colleagues.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic public relations initiatives that align with the firm's goals and objectives. Main duties and responsibilities:
Develop and Execute PR Strategies:
1. Create and implement comprehensive public relations strategies to promote the firm's brand and key messages.
2. To play a hands-on role in achieving coverage in global market-appropriate national and broadcast
3. media, and key trade and vertical publications through the development of press-facing collateral (. press releases, articles and other briefings).
4. To advise the relevant Sector Heads and business development teams on the promotion of the firm's sector expertise in an effective and consistent manner.
5. To play a role in enhancing the firm's reputation in line with Pinsent Masons’ Purpose-led culture and values.
6. To contribute towards the management, drafting and delivery of the firm's legal award submissions
7. To assist with the delivery of thought leadership campaigns, co-ordinating with the firm's digital marketing, brand and business development teams, and advising on the most effective launch channels.
8. To identify and establish strong working relationships with key target journalists and facilitate relationships between spokespeople and key media through introductions, meetings and relevant pre-briefings.
Media Relations:
9. Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with key media contacts.
10. Monitor media coverage and manage responses to ensure accurate representation of the firm.
11. Generate compelling and relevant content for various external platforms, including working with the firm’s Social Media Manager to support proactive social content.
Stakeholder management:
12. Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify PR opportunities and develop campaigns that enhance the firm's public image.`
13. Advise Business Development and Marketing Communications colleagues and support them in developing external facing content that showcases the firm's expertise.
14. To ensure accurate and regular reporting of comms activity and thought leadership campaigns into central management, benchmarking results against agreed objectives.
Qualifications: Degree educated; IPR or CIM qualified, or equivalent level experience
