Job Overview
Parliament and the Palace of Westminster is one of the most iconic and significant estates portfolios in the world. It is home to one of the busiest parliaments, operating on a World Heritage site which attracts visitors from all over the globe, with more than a million people passing through its doors each year.
In support of the Director of Property and Asset Strategy, the role is responsible for defining a holistic property strategy for the parliamentary estate which delivers efficient, flexible, and cost-effective solutions to functional and business requirements through a consolidated supply and demand approach, including planning and management of a multi-£m leased property portfolio, as well as supporting the definition of requirements as part of Strategic Estates’ role in being an intelligent client for the R&R programme.
The post holder will develop and lead a team that delivers the successful translation of customer requirements and asset data into an optimized, holistic property capital investment plan, including estate consolidation planning and execution, longer-term estate development planning and utilization, definition of the future physical workplace environment, and the initiation of projects and pipeline within the defined strategy.
Evidence of a demonstrable ability to drive and lead, motivate, empower, and coach a leadership team of professional heads will be vital. A proven ability to operate and thrive in an environment of uncertainty and ambiguity, supporting others to operate and thrive by demonstrating leadership open-mindedness, innovation, and curiosity is also essential. This role will suit property leaders with demonstrable track records in building capability in individuals, multi-disciplinary teams, and team leaders to meet current and future business needs.
