Join us as a Relief Recovery Support Worker in our new supported living service in Redditch. This role involves supporting individuals with mental health and other needs, promoting their independence, tenancy sustainment and positive risk management.
You'll help service users progress in their recovery journey, achieve goals related to mental health and wellbeing, independence and quality of life. Your support will aid individuals in moving into their new homes and becoming as independent as possible in daily living.
Providing psychological and practical support, you'll help people grow in self-esteem and confidence, make informed choices, build relationships and engage in meaningful activities. Collaboration with families, social workers, NHS professionals and voluntary agencies is essential.
To succeed, you'll need to build warm, trusting relationships, have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be confident in liaising with external agencies. Reliability, accountability and the ability to contribute to needs/risk assessments and person-centred support plans are crucial.
An understanding of mental health needs and the challenges faced by those with trauma is essential. You must be committed to equality and able to practice inclusively and non-judgmentally. Experience in a similar role is required.
