Oakwood Infant and Nursery School is a popular, inclusive and welcoming school with friendly, hardworking staff and a supportive Governing Body. We are looking to appoint a reliable, confident and enthusiastic Clerk to Governors (Governance Professional) to join our team, providing administrative and organisational support to the Governing Body.
Essential requirements for this post are:
1. An ability to work flexibly and use own initiative as and when required.
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
3. Strong organisational skills
4. Good degree of IT literacy
5. Discretion and ability to manage confidential information.
Key duties include:
1. Attendance and minute taking at governors' meetings (approximately 12 per year)
2. Preparation and distribution of agendas, minutes and correspondence
3. Maintaining a policy review cycle and annual cycle of governor business
4. Supporting the induction of new Governors
5. Keeping up-to-date and assisting the Governing Body with relevant processes and procedures.
Previous experience of governing body procedures or school administration will be an advantage but is not essential as full training and support will be provided. Hours can be worked flexibly to fit in with the annual cycle of Governing Body business and will include attendance at some early evening meetings (in person/online as appropriate).
