Role Overview
As an NPD Technologist, you will play a pivotal role in driving product innovation and development. Reporting directly to the NPD Manager, you will contribute to the entire product development lifecycle, from concept ideation to commercial launch. This is an exciting opportunity to bring creative ideas to life while collaborating with a dynamic team and engaging with customers.
Key Responsibilities
Customer-Centric Innovation: Interpret and analyze customer briefs to design innovative recipes that align with brand expectations and market trends.
Recipe Development & Costing: Create and refine recipes, ensuring alignment with customer specifications, and prepare initial product costings to maintain profitability.
Project Management: Lead and manage NPD projects, driving timelines from initial concept to full-scale production and launch.
Trial Coordination: Plan, execute, and oversee product trials, ensuring all tests meet quality, safety, and customer requirements.
Production Oversight: Monitor first production runs and support product launches to ensure seamless transition from development to delivery.
Customer Engagement: Provide exceptional care and support during the development process, maintaining regular communication and attending customer presentations to showcase new products.
Market Research & Analysis: Conduct competitor benchmarking and market reviews to identify trends and opportunities for innovation.
About You
* A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
* Previous experience in New Product Development within the food manufacturing sector is highly desirable.
* Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
* A passion for food innovation and an in-depth understanding of culinary trends.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with customers and colleagues alike.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and other relevant software tools.
* A valid driving license and flexibility to travel as required.
