ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity to join our vibrant and supportive assessment team in the English Language Learning division.
The Assessment Manager is responsible for ensuring test content is developed to best practice, delivered to agreed dates and is consistent with the Division’s visions and values. This role is also responsible for commissioning, coordinating and managing the development of test materials to form part of an integrated offer that supports the teaching and learning of English more effectively than competitors.
Duties of the role will include:
* Identify, brief and commission writers to ensure test content is pedagogically effective and meets pretesting schedules. Manage and motivate writers through the content development process. Evaluate materials and ensure content is developed to specifications. Ensure editing is of an appropriate standard. Under direction of senior colleagues.
* Ensure that all assessment content that goes into the live banks meets validation requirements and maintain specified item bank quality and levels.
* Engage in research activities to ensure that test materials reflect the appropriate methodology.
* Establish and manage project schedules coordinating with the writers and with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects are delivered according to agreed budgets, specifications and dates.
* Recruit and train external freelance item writers to facilitate the production and marking of high-quality test items.
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* Understanding of educational teaching and learning requirements.
* Knowledge of the principles of assessment.
* Substantial and relevant EFL teaching experience.
* Experience of preparing students for EFL exams.
* Experience of managing people.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally.
* Problem-solving skills.
