An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Breast Care Nursing Team of Breast Test Wales which is part of the Screening Division of Public Health Wales. We are recruiting a Breast Care Nurse to work within the South West Wales team based in our Swansea Centre.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for the care and support of women who have been recalled for assessment following their routine screening mammogram. You will be expected to provide psychological support, evidence-based information and advice to women diagnosed with breast cancer and breast disease, thereby assisting them in making informed decisions regarding treatment options.
You should be committed to positive team building, delivering a high-quality service and have oncology or breast screening experience and the principles and practice of breast cancer nursing qualification, or a willingness to undertake study to acquire. Excellent communication skills are essential, with evidence of recent and continuing professional development.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Knowledge
* Registered Nurse with active NMC registration.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development.
* Breast Care Nursing qualification or committed to undertaking and completing within 12 months of appointment.
* An understanding of the principles of Making Every Contact Count.
* An understanding of population health screening.
* Counselling experience / Communication Skills Certificate.
Experience
* Demonstrable post-registration experience in a clinical setting working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Demonstrable experience of managing a caseload and assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care given.
* Participating in audit or quality improvement initiatives.
* Previous experience in breast care, oncology, or screening services.
* Previous experience in shift/clinic management.
* Previous experience in providing teaching sessions to service users.
Skills and Attributes
* Ability to work within a team and independently as required.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Proficient in the use of standard Microsoft software, such as Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
* Ability to demonstrate understanding and application of our workplace values, together with the underpinning behaviours identified for success in this role.
* Flexible to cover clinics at other Breast Test Wales sites across Wales.
* Welsh Language Skills are desirable at levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh.
