Job Purpose:
The post holder will provide an essential role in proving support to the Senior Finance Officer and the Head of Finance. Through maintaining financial systems, recording and processing financial information, and production of management reports. The Senior Finance Officer will ensure effective financial management across a group of companies.
Main Duties:
1. Issuing sales invoices and managing Accounts Receivable ledger working closely with Local Authorities
2. Liaising with customers and external parties
3. Ensuring expenditure is detailed for analysis reports
4. To print and process all purchase invoices; matching with orders/delivery notes. Ensure authorisation in accordance with Kibble’s finance procedures
5. Set up new supplier accounts and maintain existing account details within the Purchase Ledger
6. Ensuring expenditure is coded accurately
7. Liaising with suppliers
8. Producing monthly supplier payments and ad hoc weekly payments
9. Produce electronic payment documentation including email remittance advice notes
10. Prepare, input and reconcile staff expenses in line with expenses policy
11. Maintenance and reconciliation of the Fixed Asset register
12. Reconcile intercompany accounts, credit card transactions, and staff expenses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
13. Monthly Analytical reports Assist in preparing and presenting monthly management accounts for the Senior Leadership Team, Finance Committee and Board.
14. Assist in preparation and posting of month end journals including accruals and prepayments
15. Assist with month end duties – to prepare month end reports and ledger reconciliations
16. Work to tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
17. Undertake any other reasonable duties, commensurate with the job title, as may be determined by the Head of Finance
Qualifications and Experience
18. Preferably educated to AAT Level 4, or equivalent, with demonstrable work experience
19. Previous experience in sales and purchase ledger essential
20. Highly organised with the ability to work on his/her own initiative and prioritise tasks
21. Thorough approach, placing importance on accuracy and attention to detail
22. A good team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety of people at different levels of seniority
23. An excellent communicator both verbal and written
24. Able to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
25. Receptive to working in a fast paced, changing environment
26. Fast, accurate keyboard skills, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel including Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, formulae etc and Word
27. Experience in the use of a variety of accounting software, particularly Business Central and Payhawk would be advantageous.
