The Head of Website Performance is critical in developing and implementing a comprehensive website performance strategy, enhancing our customer experience through innovative and effective digital solutions aligned to business objectives. Identify digital trends and emerging technologies to ensure the company remains at the forefront of digital innovation in the automotive sector. Work with marketing teams to create and execute digital campaigns that drive brand awareness, lead generation, and customer acquisition. Collaborate with the web development team to ensure performance considerations are integrated into all stages of website development. Manage relationships with relevant agencies and external vendors to develop and implement SEO strategies to improve our website’s visib lity, drive organic traffic, and enhance overall performance in search engine results. Monitor and analyse website and digital campaign performance using tools like Google Analytics, CRM systems, and other analytics platforms, ensuring performance optimization efforts align with SEO best practices and improve site accessibility. Provide regular reports and insights to senior management on digital performance, ROI, and key metrics, using Insights to identify areas of improvement in the customer online journey and as part of our omni-channel solution. Assume the role of ‘voice of the customer’ in discussions on the development, design, and maintenance of the company’s website to ensure it meets industry standards and user expectations. Work with the development team to identify innovative and customer orientated ways to present content. Lead and mentor the internal website teams fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Negotiate contracts and ensure deliverables are met according to agreed terms. Helpful skills and qualifications Don’t worry about ticking off every single skill here − if you care about delivering great experiences as much as we do, we want to hear from you Experience in web performance, including leadership or management roles within digital teams. Proficient with tools such as Google Analytics, WebPageTest, Lighthouse, GTMetrix, and other performance tracking and optimisation tools. Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive decisions and optimise for key business metrics like page speed, conversion rates, and user engagement. Proven experience working with cross-functional teams in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Strong leadership and communication skills with experience in managing and mentoring a team. Ability to identify issues, think critically, and propose data-backed solutions quickly. Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana). Experience in eCommerce or high-traffic websites is a plus. A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field beneficial.
