About the role:
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in supporting students with challenging behaviours. This role is crucial to our school’s SEN team, and you’ll be working with a tight-knit, supportive group of professionals. This role will involve 1:1 support and small group interventions, primarily working with students who need additional behavioural guidance and social-emotional support. You’ll be pivotal in helping students navigate their academic and personal challenges, and you’ll be central to creating a welcoming, engaging, and safe environment where every child feels seen and valued.
Application Requirements:
• Previous experience working with children with behavioural needs is essential.
• Relevant qualifications in special educational needs or behavioural support preferred.
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored 1:1 support to students with challenging behaviours.
• Develop and implement personalized strategies to manage behaviour and promote positive interactions.
• Support class teachers and other school staff in creating inclusive lesson plans.
• Foster students’ social-emotional development, building self-esteem and resilience.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and the SEN team to achieve the best outcomes for each child.
