halia Waste Management is seeking a Contract Manager to oversee the successful delivery of our waste disposal contract with West Northamptonshire Council. This role involves managing waste transfer services at Brackmills Transfer Station, ensuring efficient, compliant, and profitable operations. The Contract Manager will be responsible for stakeholder engagement, operational performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure effective management of the contract, meeting all operational, financial, and compliance requirements.
2. Lead site teams, driving high performance, staff development, and operational excellence.
3. Monitor and manage financial performance, controlling costs and identifying revenue opportunities.
4. Oversee compliance with health and safety legislation, environmental permits, and company policies.
5. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators, and key stakeholders.
6. Manage performance reporting, including KPIs, audits, and compliance documentation.
7. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and resource use.
8. Ensure incident reporting and investigations are completed in line with company procedures.
9. Support business development opportunities within waste transfer operations.
10. Deliver on sustainability, environmental, and corporate social responsibility goals.
What We Are Looking For
Qualifications
1. Degree or equivalent experience in waste services, logistics, or business administration.
2. IOSH/NEBOSH certification (preferred).
3. COTC Level 4 (or willingness to obtain).
4. Full UK driving licence.
Skills and Experience
1. Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
2. Financial acumen and contract management experience.
3. Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
4. Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
5. IT proficiency, including data reporting and analysis.
6. Experience managing waste transfer stations, collection services, or similar contracts.
