In this full-time, permanent role, you'll support students with special educational needs (SEN), including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD, helping them navigate their educational journey and reach their potential in a safe, inclusive environment.
About the Role
As a Student Support Specialist, you'll work hands-on with students to ensure they have access to meaningful and engaging learning experiences. You'll be a crucial part of our collaborative team, providing tailored academic and behavioural support that fosters each student's growth and success.
Key Responsibilities
1. Personalised Support: Provide one-on-one and small-group support to SEN students, helping them engage fully with the curriculum and build essential skills.
2. Implementation of Learning Plans: Assist in carrying out Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support behaviour management techniques to maintain a constructive learning space.
3. Adapted Curriculum Assistance: Collaborate with teachers to modify and adapt learning tasks, ensuring they meet the needs of each student.
4. Progress Tracking and Reporting: Monitor student development, offering insights and feedback to staff and parents to help guide each student's unique learning path.
Ideal Candidate Profile
1. Experience: Previous experience working in an SEN environment is advantageous but not required; we value individuals committed to making a difference in students' lives.
2. Skills: Excellent communication skills, patience, flexibility, and a caring approach to working with young people are essential.
3. Qualifications: GCSE proficiency in Maths and English is desirable.
