The Vascular Assessment Unit performs many different examinations from simple ankle brachial pressure measurements to complex vascular imaging studies. All tests performed are non-invasive. The unit is staffed by Clinical Vascular Scientists (CVS) and the post holder would support this clinical team administratively.
The post holder would be based at Worthing Hospital with the requirement to cover Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton every Friday. There is the option to work from Southlands a few days a week, depending on how the 35 hours are worked.
Main Duties of the Job
* Provide admin support for the CVS team.
* Contact patients to agree appointments, arranging transport, coordination with other clinics and interpreters as required.
* Send patient results.
* Be the first point of contact for queries.
* Maintain accurate patient records across a number of Trust systems.
* Exhibit excellent organisational skills to manage varying appointment types and urgencies.
Job Responsibilities
Role Summary
The Vascular Assessment Unit performs a variety of examinations. The post holder will provide efficient and accurate administrative support to the busy clinical environment.
This includes:
* Administering the booking system for outpatient appointments, including transport coordination and interpreter requirements.
* Maintaining accurate patient records on Trust systems and using IT systems such as Excel for organization.
* Ensuring completed scan reports and results are sent to patients and healthcare professionals in a timely manner.
* Being the first point of contact for administrative queries.
* Supporting the CVS team with placing orders for consumables and other items as required.
Person Specification
Experience / Qualifications
* Knowledge of Trust systems.
* English GCSE grade A-C or equivalent.
* Previous experience in the NHS or in a related field.
Skills
* Computer literacy and typing skills.
* Previous related work experience preferably in an office environment.
* Customer service or related experience.
Freedom to Act
* Ability to prioritise own work.
* Implement changes set by others.
* Work in accordance with the Trust's operational standards, procedures, and policies.
