An excellent opportunity has arisen for experienced individuals to take on the role of a Primary Mental Health Worker within Fife Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).
This post will be embedded within CAMHS Early Intervention Service, which aims to improve early-stage access for children, young people, and their families to a health worker in key settings, as well as supporting and strengthening the current CAMHS provision through building capacity and capability within community and primary care staff.
As a PMHW, you will provide direct input to children and families by offering assessment, containment, and signposting to those who present with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. Where appropriate, you may be required to provide a short-term intervention to the children and families you are supporting. Within this role, you will also be expected to provide consultation, supervision, and training to professionals supporting the emotional wellbeing of children and young people. Through this, there will be opportunity and necessity to build effective relationships across agencies to ensure a partnership approach to care. PMHWs will be able to work autonomously and respond to the needs of the locality, which will include the ability to travel across Fife and wider as required.
Applications are invited from staff qualified as Registered Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Clinical Associates in Applied Psychology (CAAP), Art Therapists, and Social Workers.
A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
