Practice Plus Group is one of England's largest independent providers of self-pay, insured, and NHS healthcare. Practice Plus Group Hospital Plymouth has a CQC Good rating and provides excellent healthcare to the population of Plymouth and the south west region, including Cornwall, Isles of Scilly, and all of Devon. We are an elective surgical centre providing arthroplasty surgery, orthopaedics, general surgery, endoscopy, and cataract surgery.
The clinical services include Outpatients, Day Surgery Unit, Inpatient Ward, Theatres, Endoscopy suite, Radiography, Physiotherapy, and Pharmacy, with care provided by a multidisciplinary team.
The Clinical Educator role is a brand new role and will be a part of the hospital governance team.
What you'll be doing
As a Clinical Educator, you will:
1. Inspire and Teach: sharing your knowledge, skills, and passion through the development, provision, and review of educational sessions for a diverse group of healthcare professionals and learners.
2. Innovate and Lead: supporting improvements in patient care and outcomes by providing innovative training, simulation sessions, and advice that provide evidence-based clinical training. You will have the opportunity to contribute to improvement projects and audits.
3. Make an Impact: directly contribute to improvements in patient care and outcomes through providing training, as well as advice and support during and after emergencies.
What we'll look for in you
1. NMC Registered Nurse Adult
2. Evidence of level 6 education
3. PGCE/or equivalent - or be willing to complete
4. A qualification in teaching and assessment in clinical practice (i.e., mentorship)
5. Practice Supervisor and Assessor Qualification - or be willing to complete.
6. Evidence of continuing professional development.
7. Experience of clinical practice in an acute setting - Level 1 experience will be an advantage.
8. Experience of teaching clinical skills e.g., catheterisation, venepuncture, ECGs - Orthopaedic Nursing experience will be an advantage.
9. Ability to maintain and enhance effective working relationships
10. Ability to plan, allocate, and evaluate own work and develop self to enhance performance
11. Ability to plan the work of a team
12. Ability to teach/train nursing staff
13. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
14. Ability to monitor and control resources
15. Excellent time management skills
16. Able to meet the needs of the patients
17. Computer literacy
