We are seeking to appoint a Health & Safety Advisor to join a well-established team, supporting branches across the Midlands.
Reporting to the SHEQ Team, this role is pivotal in ensuring high Health & Safety standards are maintained and advanced. Covering approximately four branches, the successful candidate will deliver expert guidance, compliance assurance, and investigative support to foster a culture of safety excellence.
This role is ideal for an experienced Health & Safety professional with a strong background in utilities, construction, manufacturing, water industries, or other mechanical environments.
The successful candidate should be based in the Birmingham or Stafford area to ensure efficient regional coverage.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide expert health and safety support to branches and client sites across your allocated region.
Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with ISO 45001 and other relevant health and safety legislation.
Investigate incidents and accidents, producing comprehensive reports and implementing control measures to prevent reoccurrence.
Deliver health and safety guidance, ensuring statutory obligations are met in all areas of health, safety, and welfare at work.
Review and update health and safety procedures, ensuring they reflect best practices and current legislation.
Collaborate with branch teams to foster a proactive safety culture, leading by example to uphold core values and operational excellence.
Manage statutory training requirements and support the delivery of health and safety initiatives across the region.
Travel regularly to branches and client sites, with occasional overnight stays as required.
Skills & Experience Required:
Proven experience in a similar Health & Safety Advisor role, with a strong background in utilities, construction, manufacturing, water industries, or mechanical environments.
Detailed knowledge of health and safety legislation, with operational experience in ISO 45001 compliance.
Experience conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is essential; a Diploma is preferred but not mandatory.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
A full UK driving licence with no more than six points is essential.
Willingness and ability to travel across the Midlands, with flexibility for occasional overnight stays.
