We want to provide support based on the principles of choice, dignity and respect. This resonates in our vision of ‘Your Life, Your Choice’ and our strategy ‘Best Lives Possible’.We have strong values and we’re proud to pioneer new ways of delivering social care to stand out in our sector. In the past two years, we have won or made the shortlist for over national and regional awards! We are also focused on our people. Our Support Workers are dedicated and passionate about going ‘the extra mile’ for the people we support and in return, we go the extra mile for them by investing in pay, recognition, wellbeing and continued professional and personal development. We will provide you with all the training, support and personal protective equipment you need in your role and will help you develop, should you decide you want to develop your career with us.
Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role: Are you a fun and kind individual who loves going the extra mile to improve the lives of others?
Is it important for you to have a satisfying job where you feel supported?
If this sounds like you, maybe a Support Worker role with an award-winning charity is the change you’ve been looking for!
We are recruiting for a Female Support Worker to support one lady and two gentlemen who share their house in Alloa. The role is part-time for 24 hours per week and you will be joining our team, who provide support to individuals living in their own homes. We provide support 24 hours a day, so are looking for flexibility to work a variety of shifts from Monday-Sunday, including some sleepovers and waking nights. Our shifts generally go from 10am - 10am the next day (sleepover included)
The people we support have faced a lot of challenges in the past because of their learning disabilities, visual impairment and mental health issues, but this hasn’t stopped them from enjoying life! They enjoy lots of activities together, including cycling, spending time in their community, accessing religious groups, going line dancing, pub quizzing and curling. Individually, the people we support enjoy writing, listening to music, watching movies and chatting.
The people we support are very motivated and would like to plan a holiday for this year. They’re always up for trying new things too, so are looking for inventive and supportive people who are up for the challenge.
Our support team are experienced and work well together to ensure the people we support are happy and safe in their own homes. This can include:
•Supporting with taking medication
•Cooking
•Assisting with personal care
•Maintaining the homes of the people supported and managing their finances Sometimes the people we support really need a male or female person to support them. For this particular role, a female colleague is required. This is a genuine occupational requirement as defined by the Equality Act Your values: The people we support like to be supported by people who respect them and their homes, but who also like to have fun!
We like people who are reliable and honest, so the people we support can build trust and know that you have their best interests at heart.
It’s important that you are reliable and honest and can communicate well with everyone.
