Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner within the Immigration & Justice sector to partner with the Business Directors and implement business specific people strategies including compensation and benefits, recruitment, engagement, and development in line with the Centres of Excellence.
Main Duties
* Demonstrate leadership and commitment to application of highest standards for health and safety in the workplace and ensure all team members understand their own obligations and respect company standards for health, safety, the environment, ethics and behaviours. Aid the sharing of best practice and ideas pan-Immigration and Justice so we create a ‘learning culture' and encourage collaboration between sites and other accounts.
* Champion communication of the HR Strategy, initiatives, policies and procedures across the business unit and work with the wide I&J team to lead and drive change projects to generate and deliver continuous improvement within the contract.
* Ensure delivery of HR cyclical processes, (recruitment, training, reward, employee relations, etc.), including working with line management and the SLT, to develop or customise the process to meet specific business issues and
* Support the operational team in building a strong relationship with the recognised Trade Union and liaising with them on employee relations and matters of negotiation.
* Develop strong and influential relationships within the business and externally to understand best practice and influence future development of the function.
* Design professional and commercial people solutions, in the event of escalated cases, providing counsel to the business in terms of the best approach.
* Work with the wider HR community to ensure people policies, initiatives and procedures are fit for purpose and meet the medium/long term needs of the business.
* Partner with key stakeholders to gain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the financial and commercial aspects of contracts, contract performance against targets to inform the People Plan priorities.
* Actively monitor data on labour costs, employment relations and sickness absence to identify trends, risks and cost saving opportunities and agree relevant action plans with Business Directors.
* Create and own the People Plan for the Business Unit alongside SLT, regularly reviewing objectives and activities from a people perspective.
* Maintain controls for existing processes, identify and recommend to People Director additional controls needed to meet requirements of compliance with HR/Group approach and policy.
What we are looking for
* CIPD qualification
* Experience of managing and driving HR initiatives in a fast-paced, complex Immigration & Justice environment
* Broad experience in all aspects of an HR Business Partnering including reward, employee relations, talent, succession planning, restructuring and leadership.
* Experience in the use of a range of techniques to support training and development activities, selection and compensation and benefits is required. (eg: TNA, psychometrics, salary surveys).
* HR Professional with experience in a commercially focused environment.
* Previous experience in a high volume and fast paced business, where you have to re-prioritise regularly.
* Confident and articulate communicator.
* Strong commitment to customer service; able to quickly establish credibility and build rapport and trust.
* Extensive trade union experience
* Strong compliance background; ability to work with commercial teams to look at TOM and OD modelling
* Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and ability to use own initiative.
* Previously worked in a matrix organisation alongside a Shared Services Centre
