Torbay Recovery Initiatives is the community Drug and Alcohol Service in Torbay. We are delivering a range of evidence-based recovery focused interventions to support individuals with drug and alcohol use problems.
We require an individual who is committed to providing high standards of service provision and who can work in partnership with service users, families and carers and the wider recovery community in Torbay.
Main duties of the job
1. Undertake initial assessment of individuals referred into the service.
2. Provide a range of evidence-based interventions to individuals assessed as appropriate for treatment from the service.
3. Contribute to the coordination of recovery focused interventions to individuals.
4. Work closely with partner agencies including statutory and non-statutory services to ensure effective delivery and coordination of services.
5. Monitoring of prescribing interventions which form a component of the individuals recovery journey.
6. Undertake specific interventions to support individuals to address alcohol use problems.
7. Provide a range of evidence-based treatment to individuals with physical and psychological dependency upon illicit drugs or alcohol.

Job responsibilities
1. Proactively engage clients within the treatment system and minimize the harm to the client resulting from their use of illicit drugs/alcohol.
2. Work in partnership with non-statutory agencies in the delivery of treatment and psychosocial support to clients.
3. Work in partnership with service users to ensure that the service provided is appropriate and relevant to their needs.
Person Specification
Essential
* Valid NMC registration.
* Registered Nurse on the NMC register.
* Experience of working with challenging client group.
* Evidence of ability to work within a team.
Desirable
* Motivational interviewing skills or willingness to undertake training.
* 6 months post qualification preferred.
* Understanding of Trauma Informed Practice or willingness to complete training.
* Experience of working with people who have substance misuse issues.
