The Technical Agronomist of our innovative specialist nutrition client will specialise in the (but not exclusive to) vegetable and arable crop sectors. This role is pivotal in driving the adoption of innovative agricultural technologies within these sectors, while also providing technical expertise and support to customers and end users. The Technical Agronomist will collaborate closely with internal teams to develop tailored solutions, manage customer accounts, orders and contribute to the growth of our clients market presence.
Key Responsibilities
Market Development
1. Identify emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities within the vegetable, agriculture, and horticulture sectors.
2. Work with Leadership team to develop and implement initiatives that expand their presence in these sectors.
3. Collaborate with internal functional teams to create and develop targeted technical material and updates to support customers and end users.
Customer Account Management
1. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers across sectors in the UK.
2. Spend time visiting customers and end users, creating awareness of the products, understanding of how best to use them.
3. Act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, providing technical guidance, and addressing any issues or concerns.
Technical Expertise and Support
1. Provide expert agronomic advice and support to customers and end users regarding the use of products and services.
2. Conduct on-site visits and assessments to understand customers’ and end user operations and offer tailored agronomic recommendations.
3. Stay abreast of advancements in crop cultivation techniques, pest and disease management, and crop nutrition (macro and micro).
Product Development and Improvement
1. Gather feedback from customers and market insights to inform the development of new products or enhancements to existing offerings.
2. Collaborate with internal team members, including R&D and product management to deliver new innovations.
3. Participate in product testing and validation activities with both CRO’s and end users, to ensure quality and efficacy.
4. Interpret R&D data into customer friendly format including info sheets, seasonal updates and internal summaries.
5. Engagement with organic farmer/grower associations assisting in lobbying for the validation & approval of use.
Key Skills
• Highly self-motivated individual.
• BASIS Certificate in Crop Production Veg and FACTS preferred.
• Knowledge of plant physiology and environmental challenges.
• A good understanding of the commercial crop protection market.
• A good understanding of UK growing and the political, environmental, and financial challenges growers face.
• An understanding of ELMS and SFI, and other environmental schemes and regs.
• Awareness of the UK and European bio stimulant market, to include product ranges, competitor companies and relevant regulatory requirements.
• An understanding of soil science and the concept of soil health and the rhizosphere.

Whilst the role is home-based, ideally you would be located within the East Anglian region.
