Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Integrated Safeguarding Team for a part time position as Lead Nurse for Safeguarding and Mental Health. This post will be a permanent 18.75-hour post. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated Registered Practitioner with a passion and understanding of safeguarding practice and the mental health agenda. The post will allow the successful applicant to work across the Acute Trust and Community to provide expert advice and support to all staff in their safeguarding responsibilities. It is an opportunity to work with partner agencies and contribute to the teams work with the Rotherham Safeguarding Board. Furthermore, you will be pivotal in supporting a continuous improvement approach to mental health practice across the Trust. The post holder will be based at the Rotherham Hospital site. Interviews will be held on 10th February 2025 Main duties of the job The integrated Safeguarding team is made up of Named and Lead Nurses for adults and children, Paediatric Liaison, Child Death Lead Nurse and the Learning Disability Team.The post holder will support the team in continuing to progress the safeguarding and mental health agenda within TRFT, including promoting the Think Family principles when contributing to the improvement of safeguarding systems and processes. You will create positive professional links with health, social and voluntary sector services to support coordinated care of adults at risk of harm.The post holder will support the development of policies, procedures and guidance and deliver training and supervision across the Trust. You will provide expert support and advice when required.The successful candidate will have experience of working with families where safeguarding concerns have been identified, this will include skills in risk management. You will have a good understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and its application in practice and should be able to work in complex and challenging environments.
