* Prepare template clinic letters with patient demographics and investigation reports
* Proof read, format and process clinical annotation from dedicated cancer and TLHC out-patient clinics to a high professional standard
* Update a database timely and accurately ensuring the patients pathway is tracked and recorded
* Inform patients of short notice appointments, demonstrating competence and offering support and understanding to patient anxieties
* Make/receive calls to/from GP's and other NHS professionals in a friendly, helpful and professional manner
* Use hospital systems to book and manage appointments and generate appointment letters
* General administration for the service including filing, scanning and saving documentation
* Provide cover and support to the wider administrative team
We are looking for an experienced administration assistant to join the clinical administration team within the Respiratory Medicine specialty. This post offers excellent opportunities for an enthusiastic and conscientious person to provide comprehensive administration support to our medical secretaries and clinical teams.
You will have previous administrative experience, preferably in a health care setting. It is essential that you have strong IT skills, a good level of general education, an extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook along with good typing/word processing qualifications/skills. You will be positive and enthusiastic with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. It's important that you are flexible, able to act on your own initiative and work both independently and as part of a team. You must be able to demonstrate empathy, diplomacy, sensitivity and be aware of the importance of confidentiality.
