Job Summary of the Production Superintendent: The Production Superintendent will supervise staff, and organize and monitor workflow on the night shift.
Responsibilities of the Production Superintendent:
1. Maintain staff by selecting, orienting, and training employees.
2. Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods and implementing cost reductions.
3. Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules and resolving problems.
4. Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
5. Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs; and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
6. Provide manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answer questions and respond to requests.
7. Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, recordkeeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.
8. Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
9. Identify and anticipate safety and health concerns and hazards by surveying environmental, operational, and occupational conditions.
10. Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications of the Production Superintendent:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Agricultural, or Industrial Engineering; Industrial Technology; Supply Chain; or other related field.
2. 6 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
3. Prior experience with continuous process improvement.
4. Directly supervise 10 or more employees with high control over their activities.
5. Oversee the operations of two or more departments.
6. Act as the direct extension of the Director of Operations on the night shift.
