We're looking for a driven and experienced Senior People Advisor to champion our company culture and ensure a seamless People experience at every touchpoint. As a key member of the People Operations team, you'll mentor and support team members while delivering a high-quality, consistent, and caring service.

This role is primarily based in our Nelson office but requires occasional travel to all Giacom offices to build strong relationships and maintain an on-site People team presence as needed.
What you'll be doing
Reporting to the People Operations Manager, this role will be responsible for:
* Advising People Managers on managing integration periods for all new starters.
* Supporting HR case work (absence management, investigation, grievance, disciplinary etc) by acting as note-taker and adviser, depending on the requirements of each case.
* Providing valuable employment law advice to People managers on a wide spectrum of employee relations issues, often complex in nature.
* Assist with and manage sickness absence cases and ill health capability issues (including ill health closures where appropriate).
* Liaise with our occupational health provider as required.
* Work with our People Coordinators and managers to manage family-friendly processes including maternity, paternity, adoption, and parental leave.
* Liaise and assist people managers on our performance management processes.
* Practical application of all Giacom HR policies to provide advice and support to team members.
* Provide support with organisational design and structural reviews of teams.
* Support with or lead on redundancy and TUPE processes.
* Assist with annual review of HR policies review.
* Project work.
Your Experience
* Demonstrable track record of success in a similar role.
* CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience.
* Good knowledge of IT systems and strong Microsoft Office skills – particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
* Deep knowledge of employment law and the latest employment legislation, including in the areas of terms and conditions, absence management, capability and redundancy.
* Strong facilitation and coaching skills, ability to challenge constructively, providing the right advice to identify and mitigate risk.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Ability to think critically, considering a broad spectrum of factors that come with working in an acquisitional Company.
* Collaborative team player.
* Proactive self-starter.
* Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and authenticity.
* Ability to handle multiple concurrent and competing tasks and prioritise effectively.
* Ability and willingness to work flexibly and respond to urgent developments to ensure the needs of the Company are adequately supported.
* Full UK driving license.
