Job Summary:
We invite candidates eager to build or advance their software engineering careers to join our Systems Integration Team. This role involves designing, constructing, and testing PLC and SCADA software, as well as producing essential project documentation. Successful candidates will gain access to formal training for qualifications such as HNC/Degrees, alongside specialized training in industry-standard software like Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Mitsubishi PLCs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Understand and interpret the functional/control/system requirements of the project/requirement.
* Design documents including I/O lists, FDS, SDS, test documents, etc.
* Programme PLCs and HMIs (including but not limited to Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Mitsubishi) and configure Schneider systems (namely Wonderware, Rockwell, and Siemens). Note: Training will be given where necessary.
* Deliver assigned projects on-time and to cost (in accordance with Standards and contractual requirements).
* Continually demonstrate expert knowledge of computer/PLC logic and flow-charting.
* Understand low voltage electrical systems and drawings.
* Attend customer sites whenever required, always upholding the Company’s Culture and Values.
* Review and repair legacy code where necessary.
* Conduct system analysis and development, sometimes with limited support from other personnel, and keep systems current with changing technologies and methodologies.
* Test and proof programs to ensure that functionality, logic, and syntax are correct/in accordance with the FDS and Test Plan.
* Document code consistently and in all software so that it can be fully understood by other individuals (internally and externally) and complies with Standards/expectations/best practice.
Candidate Requirements:
* Strong IT and software engineering skills (e.g., Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Databases).
* Experience with SCADA and PLC programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi).
* Knowledge of electrical systems and low-voltage controls.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to documentation standards.
* Qualifications: Secondary education (Trainee level) or HNC/Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
