About the opportunity:
Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Head of Acquisitions will be responsible for leading the Acquisitions team as they identify and acquire new Drive Thru sites across the UK.
The Head of Acquisitions will work closely with the internal BKUK teams including Operations, Marketing, Finance Business Partners, the Head of PMO and Head of Construction.
The Head of Acquisitions will oversee the acquisitions process as the Acquisitions Managers present sites, and work with external legal teams and planning advisors through to exchange and completion, ensuring that the team adheres to approved budgets and ensures that the quality of new sites delivers profitability and drives the growth of the company.
What you'll do:
* Work closely with the Chief Development Officer and Head of Property to develop, deliver and implement the expansion strategy.
* Collaborate with Developers, Agents and legal advisors to deliver new site acquisitions that align with the Property strategy.
* Proactively seek “off market” opportunities through enquiries and direct approaches.
* Conduct negotiations for site acquisitions to agree the best possible terms with planning and licensing authorities, ensuring deadlines are met or bettered.
* Evaluate and present physical and financial site assessments to senior management for leadership inspections and approvals.
* Build and develop relationships with landlords, developers, etc., within the wider leisure, restaurant and retail property marketplace, promoting the business requirements.
* Work closely with Burger King's internal teams including Construction, Operations, Marketing, Finance and People teams to assist with end-to-end project delivery on time and within budget.
* Understand and implement the wider property strategy through new restaurant openings in collaboration with the Chief Development Officer and Head of Property.
* Advise on relevant trends and developments in the Property marketplace and review competitor activity.
* Produce presentations for internal and external meetings, including Board meetings, working with the Head of PMO to ensure all deadlines are met and quality of reporting is maintained.
* Deliver updates for weekly, monthly and other periodic meetings.
* Lead and develop the field-based Acquisitions team through regular reviews and meetings.
You will have:
* MRICS preferable but not essential.
* Excellent geographical knowledge.
* Strong commercial focus with the gravitas and ability to manage key relationships both externally and internally.
* An established network of contacts with agents, developers, restaurant/leisure, and retail operators.
* Tenacity with a high level of commitment and energy, able to uncover opportunities directly with an entrepreneurial approach.
* Good awareness of operational requirements, customer profile, and branding.
* Experience managing the entire acquisitions process from site finding, negotiation, purchase, legal, and licensing processes.
* Capability to manage, organize and prioritize workload, be self-motivated, competitive, and work well under pressure while consistently meeting deadlines.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to close deals and work in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
