Health and Safety Business Partner
Hybrid working: a combination of working from home, with a base at one of our national offices, such as Durham, Newcastle, Maryport, Welwyn Garden City or Farringdon/London.
Permanent, Full time (37.5 hpw)
Salary: Circa £50,000 pa depending on experience, a car allowance will be included too. With some great benefits including a health cash plan.
You’ll be an important member of our highly respected and specialist health and safety team. We currently hold a 5* rating with the British Safety Council. Critical to making the service we deliver a success are the strong relationships we’ve developed across the wider business and with our external partners.
We are passionate about developing and implementing the Health and Safety strategy, plan, and policies for Home Group so that there is a clear framework that drives compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Typical day as a Health and Safety Business Partner
* Work with your stakeholders within your region.
* Support our Operational management teams (for example: developing suitable training programmes).
* Carry out appropriate health and safety checks of colleagues & contractors, high-quality in-house Health and Safety audits/inspections and create accurate monthly management reports from our performance data.
* Support, advise, and guide the contractor procurement process as well as build and effectively maintain relationships with the supply chain.
* Collaborate and engage with other colleagues within the Health and Safety team.
You have:
* NEBOSH Occupational Health and Safety and/or NEBOSH construction management, Grad IOSH as minimum, actively working towards CMIOSH, maintaining your CPD as per the IOSH Blueprint programme.
* Experience in a Maintenance/Construction H&S Management or equivalent role.
* Experience in compiling and reviewing detailed risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
* Experience in supporting/advising with construction-related health and safety, including guided training on various risks e.g., working at heights, CDM, asbestos, vibration, and dust etc.
* Analyse accidents/incidents and investigations completing comprehensive investigation reports.
* Experience in writing and reviewing health and safety policies and procedures.
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
* A full current UK driving licence for business use and commuting.
Job details:
* Working week is Monday to Friday.
* Responsibility for the health and safety across your region, with occasional travel throughout the country.
* You will have the flexibility of working either from home or in one of our local offices and we’ll give you the technology and kit to make that easy.
* You will have the chance to shape your own diary, however, will likely spend around 2-3 days per week on the road, and working from offices and home the rest of the time.
