We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Chichester to assist with the appointment of a Finance Support Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £13.19 - £16.32 per hour

Responsibilities:
Provide reliable, efficient and effective flexible support to a team (or across teams) of a high-level administrative nature relating to the delivery of a specialist financial service. Including responding to typical client queries, giving standard information and guidance relating to the service, maintaining records and producing standard correspondence, and providing support and day to day processing according to set procedures.
Provide financial oversight, operational responsibility and act as the liaison for schools funding and associated activity. The post holder will be the liaison between education settings and the Commercial and Contracting financial affairs.
Provide expert advice across the team supporting the implementation of financial accounting and reporting in other areas of the business as identified by the strategy and Head of Service. Act as subject matter expert for financial activities between Education and Skills and our customers, supported by Schools Finance, the Commercial and Communications Manager and Business Development and Partnership Manager.
Assume responsibility for operational tasks within the financial systems (SAP/ Oracle) such as invoicing, raising purchase orders, payments and reporting. Submit data to national bodies for governance.
Responsible for budget monitoring and reporting to the senior management team, and identifying possible risks, providing mitigation and solutions. The post holder will be proactive and work independently within the Commercial and Contracting team, and proactively with internal stakeholders and other services.
Qualifications:
Graduate or equivalent business qualification.
and/or
Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualified, or equivalent
qualification or experience which demonstrates that level of applied or
theoretical knowledge in accounting plus knowledge of the related systems,procedures and policies.
Experience of working in a customer orientated environment.
Relevant experience working in a commercial environment (preferably
working with large or complex budgets) demonstrating a good understanding and working knowledge of systems and practices relating to finance and accounting.
Experience providing specialist advice to managers or customers. Including explaining complex financial information or other similar technical information.
