The Role
Our partner SEN schools across East Sussex cater for students aged 4-18 with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties. As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:
1. Work 1:1 and in small groups, helping students engage in learning.
2. Assist with academic support, emotional development, and social skills.
3. Implement tailored strategies alongside teachers and therapists.
4. Use de-escalation and therapeutic techniques to support students with emotional regulation.
5. Encourage positive behaviour and resilience in a supportive learning environment.
What We’re Looking For
* A Psychology degree (or a related subject) with an interest in mental health and education.
* A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting students.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Any experience working with young people (coaching, tutoring, mentoring, support work) is advantageous but not essential – full training is provided!
