Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust (WAHT) has an exciting opportunity for an accredited and experienced Colposcopy Nurse Specialist to join our friendly team in the Gynaecology service.
The successful candidate will have recent clinical and management experience and will be fully conversant with the Quality Assurance standards for the service. This role will provide leadership to our colposcopy nursing service, overseeing the delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective care, leading on improving outcomes and experiences for patients using the service, and ensuring that patients are placed at the centre of care delivery. The post holder will be supported by admin.
Main Duties of the Job
Duties include:
1. Leading and coordinating the colposcopy service at WAHT.
2. Maintaining national standards for patient safety and clinical practice, including writing and reporting national reports.
3. Working with the Clinical Lead Colposcopist and wider team in colposcopy to support the development and delivery of the cervical screening service in accordance with NHS England Service specifications.
4. Being responsible for the effective and efficient operational management of the Colposcopy Service on a day-to-day basis.
5. Providing senior clinical leadership, expertise, advice, and support to the nursing and wider multi-professional team to facilitate the effective delivery of care to patients at all times.
6. The post holder must have extensive theoretical and practical experience of the clinical skills required to run independent nurse-led clinics.
7. The post holder will provide clinical and professional advice at Directorate/Divisional and Trust level.

Job Responsibilities
Job Summary:
1. In collaboration with the Colposcopy Clinical Lead, lead the delivery of the National Colposcopy Screening Programme (CSPL) as set out by Public Health England (PHE) (one half-day per week -1PA) and produce quarterly and annual performance reports.
2. Practice independently as a Nurse Colposcopist, accredited by the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP).
3. Work closely with the specialty Clinical Lead and as part of the Directorate triumvirate to provide a safe, high-quality service with further service developments and collaboration with our Foundation group counterparts.
4. Work as an advanced practitioner and effectively lead and deliver an expert nursing service within the specialty areas.
5. Manage and develop the specialty nursing team acting as a professional leader to provide high-quality care to patients accessing this service.

Experience
* Extensive experience as a BSCCP accredited nurse colposcopist at a senior level in an acute hospital environment, including staff, financial and change management.

* Responsible for managing own service delivery, working alone as well as a lead core member of the multidisciplinary team.
* Proven track record of delivering the quality agenda, ensuring patient safety is paramount and at the forefront of planning services and resource allocation.
* Understand principles of effective budgetary management and demonstrate experience of managing budgets.
* Able to deal with difficult and complex situations.
* Evidence of change management and innovation within the specialist area.
* Experience in clinical audit and research.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with current NMC Registration.
* Educated to Degree Level or equivalent management experience.
* BSCCP Accreditation.
* Recognised teaching/assessing qualification.
* Recognised leadership or management qualification.
* Independent non-medical prescriber.
* Communication or Counselling Qualification.
