Job Description
Qualified Social Worker, Team Manager, Sandwell Council, Children in Care Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team.
The responsibilities will include:
1. Manage a team of no more than four Social Workers and one Social Care Assistant.
2. Reduce capacity for current Team Managers and enable robust management oversight which leads to timely and effective interventions and outcomes for children.
3. Responsibility for a complex caseload of children and young people, conducting a range of assessments whilst listening to the views of the children and young people they are supporting.
4. Using best practice and ensuring all legislative requirements are met, delivering high quality children’s plans in a proactive and timely manner, with a strong emphasis on the child’s voice.
5. Empowering children, young people and their families/carers by listening to their views.
6. Provision of good quality written reports suitable for a varied audience.
7. Responsibility of casework for Children in Care, those subject to Child Protection plans, subject to Child in Need plans and Court proceedings.
8. 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation).
9. 3 month Temporary Contract.
10. Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance.

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent, must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
