To work with the Children's Care Group in the forward planning and further development of services within the Trust.
To participate in the Consultant appraisal process (and other initiatives in relation to GMC Revalidation) and job planning within the Trust.
To support and participate in Clinical Governance and Audit projects within the service.
To participate in continuing professional development according to the guidelines of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and to maintain good standing with the College regarding CPD.
The post holder will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to evidence-based practice and to the application of NICE guidelines and Trust guidelines relevant to young people and their families within the CAMH Service.
To contribute to post-graduate and under-graduate teaching.
To comply with Trust policies and procedures and to contribute to the formulation of Trust clinical policies as appropriate.
To undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of patients.
To participate fully in the Clinical Governance activity of the service.
To ensure that clinical activity is accurately and comprehensively recorded and submitted to the Information Department.
To attend and participate in the academic programme of the Trust, including lectures and seminars as part of the internal CPD programme.
Main duties of the job
The Consultant Psychiatrist for CAMHS will take an active part in the clinical work of the team and play a lead role in the development of the service. The specific duties include:
The post holder will, along with their Consultant colleagues, provide Consultant psychiatric leadership to the CAMHS Service.
The post holder will offer regular consultation to the multi-disciplinary team both through the team MDT case discussions and on an individual basis.
The post holder will assess, contribute to the formulation of care plans, and treat where appropriate young people and their families where there is a question of psychiatric diagnosis or where the case is very complex.
The post holder may also be required to assess in cases of high risk.
The post holder will work with the MDT in the ongoing treatment and management of cases where Consultant Psychiatric skills are required.
The post holder will liaise with other agencies and professionals to ensure the wellbeing of the young person. This includes the processes of Child Protection and the Care Programme Approach when appropriate.
All cases will be case managed by a member of the MDT.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Full registration with the GMC
* Must be on the GMC Specialist Register for CAMHS or a trainee within six months of completing their CCT
* MRC Psych or equivalent higher qualification.
Experience
* Higher Specialist Training in CAMHS.
* Experience of audit and an understanding of the principles of clinical governance.

Salary: £105,504 to £139,882 a year per annum 30% RRP
