Overview We are seeking skilled and dedicated Brick Masons to join our teams in Truro and Redruth. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in masonry and be proficient in bricklaying techniques. These roles involve working on various construction projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. The successful applicants will be capable of using both hand tools and power tools effectively, contributing to the successful completion of building structures. Responsibilities Lay bricks, blocks, and other types of masonry materials according to specifications and blueprints. Prepare surfaces for bricklaying by cleaning and applying mortar or other bonding agents. Construct walls, arches, and other structures using bricks or blocks while ensuring alignment and levelness. Perform repairs on existing masonry structures, including repointing and replacing damaged bricks. Operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently to complete tasks. Collaborate with other construction professionals, such as carpenters and welders, to ensure project success. Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations. Experience Proven experience in bricklaying or masonry work is essential. Familiarity with the use of power tools and hand tools relevant to the trade. Experience in roofing or related construction fields is advantageous but not mandatory. A strong attention to detail with the ability to follow technical drawings accurately. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
