This role is predominately covering staff in the Theatre Department at Peterborough City Hospital, Hinchingbrooke Hospital and Stamford Day Surgery Unit.
As Lead Clinical Educator within Theatre you are supported by the trust Practice Development Team (PDT) and a Clinical Theatre Education Group across our sites.
Facilitate training, education and to support the practice and professional development of the multidisciplinary team in theatre which relates to all aspects of care. Work with Student ODP's Direct entry and apprentice & Student Nurses from UoL & ARU.
Develop study days and training sessions to meet gaps identified in the training needs analysis and clinical area education frameworks
Enhance, support and develop skills in the Theatre Department, enabling prompt detection and effective management of emergent problems
Work effectively with all members of the multi disciplinary team, offering clinical expertise advice and support in order to provide a consistent effective approach to quality care within the Theatre Department
Support and facilitate the implementation of preceptorship and mentorship to newly qualified staff, overseas nurses and new appointed qualified staff providing the educational framework to ensured that this takes place
Motivate staff, promote team building demonstrate and develop leadership skills in creating a suitable environment for efficient and effective team working

Participate in continuing education and other activities within theatre in order to sustain own professional growth and of others
Function as a role model for Nurses/AHP's and other professional groups in theatre

Instigate theory and practice and sustain effective partnerships with the Lead Nurses, Band 7 and Practice Development Team
Ensure that staff are trained,, educated and developed to their potential to meet the demands of the service in liaison with Team Managers, Lead Practitioners and other staff including Practice Development Team and other Corporate Support Teams such as Resuscitation/AHP and the Apprenticeship Team
Act as a credible clinical leader and role model, sharing expertise with all relevant clinical staff to promote high quality patient care
