We are looking for a passionate and experienced individual to play a leading role in the development and implementation of our strategic policies aimed at supporting economic growth across the City Region, utilising data analysis and economic fore-sighting to determine the implications for local policy, investment and delivery, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders to design and align effective policy interventions that improve productivity and prosperity.

The Lead Officer for Economic Strategy will shape the work of the Combined Authority, maximising our contribution to local and national growth ambitions. Joining a high performing policy service area, you will play a key role in delivering a joined-up policy offer, building on our region’s strengths and working to address its underlying challenges through innovation, creativity and collaboration.
About the Person:
If you have a sound knowledge and understanding of the economic development agenda and are experienced in developing policy and strategy, this could be the role for you. We want someone with the ability to shape future policy thinking locally and nationally, who can work proactively, building strong relationships with stakeholders and our constituent authorities to deliver better outcomes across the city region.
We are looking for someone who can deliver high quality, technical policy input, providing strategic expertise and guidance to our Leadership Team, working across the wider policy team and with our partners to deliver a joined-up economic development offer. You will be politically aware with the ability to work at pace and have a track record of operating in a complex policy environment.
