The College
Oxford International College (OIC) Brighton is an international day and boarding college for students aged 13 to 18. Following the IGCSE and A Level curriculums, OIC Brighton’s curriculum is based on the proven success of Oxford International College’s three-pronged curriculum model which has led to outstanding academic outcomes. OIC Brighton intends to join OIC Oxford at the top of the UK league tables, preparing our leavers for the most competitive courses at the world’s best universities. The College opened on the historical Ovingdean Hall site in August 2023 and is due to grow incrementally over the next 3 years, with a large expansion project planned on the site and a final capacity of 500 teaching spaces. OIC Brighton’s students are predominantly international boarders, many of whom stay onsite over weekends and short holidays. There are currently both boarding and estates staff resident onsite. The site is rented to holiday programmes at Easter and during the summer.
The Role
The Director of Operations will sit on OIC Brighton’s Senior Leadership Team and work closely with the Principal to ensure the smooth running of the College and site. This role represents a growing senior leadership team, reflecting OIC Brighton’s ambitious plans for growth and development in its opening years.
The Director of Operations will line manage the Estates team, ensuring the effective management of business aspects of the College and playing a major role in the College’s strategic direction. The Director of Operations will have particular responsibility for compliance in health and safety, overseeing auditing, project management of significant building works and monitoring and working with the Principal to implement the College’s strategic development plan. Alongside managing the day-to-day operations of the site and College, the Director of Operations will work on exploring efficiencies and opportunities for further growth and development.
OIC Brighton is part of Nord Anglia Education. The Director of Operations will work closely with leadership and management from across Nord Anglia’s Regional and Head Office teams, ensuring that OIC Brighton adheres to standard operating procedures and reporting on performance and projects. The role will be line managed by the Principal and will also be accountable to the Board of Governors and particularly to Nord Anglia’s UK Finance Director and Head of Global Health and Safety, both of whom sit on OIC Brighton’s governing body.
