We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Technical Focal Point (TFP). As the region’s key technical expert, you will be instrumental in supporting our service centres and customers by resolving technical issues swiftly and providing critical engineering support. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about engineering and thrives on being the go-to person for technical challenges. You will have the chance to engage directly with customers, tackle complex problems, and make a significant impact on our business’s success.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
* Serve as the primary technical advisor for the region, working closely with service centres and customers.
* Offer expert guidance on technical procedures, ensuring best practices are followed.
* Support customer meetings with technical insights and solutions.
* Participate in failure investigations, identifying root causes and recommending innovative repair solutions.
* Optimise processes to enhance efficiency and quality across our services.
* Train and mentor teams, sharing your expertise to build capability within the organisation.
* Drive business growth through collaborative problem-solving and strategic technical support.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* A formal nationally recognised higher-level qualification, or equivalent industrial experience in engineering or a related field.
* Experience with rotating equipment / electrical machine service and repair.
* Strong influencing and persuasion skills.
* Willingness to travel to various UK customer and Sulzer locations.
* Knowledge of balancing and vibration analysis.
* Experience in dealing directly with customers.
