Sports Coach
Location: Burnley

ABOUT THE SCHOOL:
Prospero Teaching is looking for a confident and energetic Sports Coach for a school in the Burnley area.
You will be needed to deliver PE sessions and coaching sessions in the gym, taking students to sports activities, such as boxing and trampolining.
You must be confident in implementing the school sport programme effectively, promoting physical fitness and healthy lifestyles, and be a perfect role model for pupils who are disengaged with their studies.
The school is for secondary students, many of whom have found it difficult to study in a mainstream school and some with an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The school caters to a range of needs, including autistic spectrum disorder, Aspergers Syndrome, speech and language difficulties, and severe social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
The position is open to all experienced candidates and those with a strong background in delivering and mentoring sports to children and young adults. Depending on performance, the school may consider extending the contract or offering a permanent position.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Previous experience delivering sports sessions
2. LEVEL 2 Teaching Assistant or equivalent and above is preferable
3. GCSE Maths and English and Computer literate
4. Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year
5. Team Teach qualified (or signed up to attend with our agency)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
1. Hold Right to Work in the UK
2. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
3. Provide two professional child-related references that cover at least the last two years
