We're searching for an enthusiastic and diligent person to join us as Assistant Manager.

The right candidate will take pride in working well as a team, supporting junior staff to progress, and in knowing that you have delivered excellent customer service. This is a full-time permanent role which will include evening and weekend shifts. There will be some split shifts required.
With 23 bedrooms, a popular bar and restaurant we are a busy venue and can provide the right candidate with lots of opportunity to grow their pre-existing skills and gain experience in all these departments. The successful candidate will have access to various training opportunities in first aid, fire training, personal licence etc via the business owners (Arkell's), so whilst the successful applicant will have experience in previous related roles if you do not already hold these qualifications this is a brilliant opportunity to gain them. You should be capable and confident in leading your colleagues and ensuring our service standards are always upheld across the rooms, bar and restaurant.
You'll need to be able to engage both your colleagues and our customers, delivering friendly and efficient service to create fantastic experiences. The successful candidate will be expected to be able to open the business for the trading day, create a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere and be capable of closing the business at the end of the day. We require brilliant verbal and written communication skills, helping our guests with any enquiries or requests they may have. In time, you will be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day running in absence of the general manager during their annual leave. You will work closely with the general manager, not only expanding your knowledge and abilities but also helping them to grow the business.
