Welding Inspector Location: Reading 4 Months Contract About the Role: Our client is looking for a skilled Welding Inspector to join their team, ensuring quality control and compliance on critical welding projects. As a Welding Inspector, you'll uphold high standards of safety and quality in a dynamic and collaborative work environment. Key Responsibilities: Weld Inspections: Conduct visual inspections on welds to identify any defects, ensuring they meet specified standards. NDT Testing: Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) as required, using DPI and radiographic inspection methods. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all welding activities adhere to project specifications, industry codes, and client standards. Maintain thorough documentation and prepare detailed reports. Verification of Welding Personnel: Check the qualifications of welders on-site to ensure compliance with procedural standards. Condition Monitoring: Confirm that pre- and post-weld conditions (e.g., material prep, heat treatments) meet necessary requirements for optimal quality. Collaboration: Work closely with site engineers, quality control, and welding teams to share inspection results and recommend necessary corrective actions. Safety Compliance: Maintain high safety standards and procedures to ensure a secure working environment for all site personnel. Qualifications & Skills: PCN Level 2 Welding Inspector or CSWIP 3.1 - Required PCN Level 2 Ultrasonic Testing (Welds 3.1/3.2) - Required PCN Level 2 Radiographic Interpretation - Desirable PCN Level 2 Magnetic Particle Inspection - Required PCN Level 2 Dye Penetrant Inspection – Desirable Proven experience in welding inspection within sectors like oil & gas, construction, or power generation. Proficiency in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques, including DPI and radiographic inspection, with strong knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ASME, API). Strong observational skills to detect weld defects and interpret technical specifications accurately. Ability to effectively collaborate with quality control teams, welders, and site engineers.
