The Finance team at North Bristol NHS Trust is looking for a dedicated and innovative self-starter to work closely with the Divisional Finance Business Partners and Divisional Leadership Teams on ensuring the Divisions deliver against financial and operational targets. You will work in the Financial Management team and be responsible for the delivery of month end and savings, support the annual planning process, and helping to improve the processes and controls within financial management and the wider finance team.
The Trust has 1 x Full Time role available (will accept applications for 0.6 WTE to full time).

The Deputy Finance Business Partner (DFBP) role is working within the Division, with a dotted line to Finance. This role provides an excellent opportunity to have a real, tangible, and positive impact on operational activities and subsequently patient care.
In this role, you will report into the Divisional Finance Business Partner.
As a DFBP, you will:
• Be responsible for leading on delivery of month end, forecasting and the underlying position for your Division
• Support the development of business cases to progress projects
• Support the identification and delivery of savings and efficiencies
• Develop robust relationships with both finance and operational staff
• Lead a team to meet department goals and objectives
The successful applicant will have:
• Experience of working in an innovative finance function
• Confidence in understanding and analysing large data sets
• Good understanding of Financial Management
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
• The ability to communicate clearly and effectively, tailored appropriately to the audience
This role is suitable for any candidate with a good understanding of financial management and who is looking to broaden their experience and have a positive impact on the operational and financial aspects of the Division.
You should be a qualified CCAB accountant with a good track record of delivering results within a large complex environment. Previous NHS experience is required.

The post is contractually based at Christopher Hancock Building, Southmead, and at present we have a hybrid working model of remote working and office based when necessary. The requirement of office-based working can vary depending on current pressures and departmental needs. With this being a business partnering role there is an expectation that the successful individual will spend periods of time in the divisional offices and the finance office (circa 2-3 days per week).
The role will work as part of the Divisional Senior Management Team to support the Divisional Finance Business Partner (FBP) in managing the financial performance of the Division.
Provide expert accounting and business knowledge, analytical support, clear presentation and understanding of financial, activity and business information.
Lead on the delivery of month end and forecasting with support from the Divisional Finance Manager (DFM), communicating the key drivers and risks to the FBP and the Assistant Director of Finance – Financial Management (ADFM).
Provide financial reporting and analysis to support the Division in the development and delivery of the financial and operational plan as well as the production of budget, monthly reporting pack and ad-hoc consolidation reports on Trust-wide projects.
Work alongside the FBP in supporting the Division to identify and transact saving opportunities to ensure the Trust can reduce the current underlying deficit.
Work with the FBP and DFM in delivering a comprehensive financial management service to the Division. The role will help in setting the workload for the DFM, and deputise for the FBP as required.
