An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Coastal Project Engineer to join a busy Coastal Risk Management Team in the North West. This critical role will focus on delivering high-profile coastal protection projects, ensuring compliance with environmental and legal standards, and enhancing community resilience.
The main duties and responsibilities of the experienced Coastal Project Engineer are:
1. Lead the development and delivery of coastal protection schemes from inception to completion.
2. Manage project budgets of up to £10 million, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
3. Develop and implement coastal strategies aligned with national policies.
4. Coordinate public engagement sessions and lead community resilience initiatives.
5. Represent the council in regional and national forums.
6. Secure funding through grants and partnerships while ensuring compliance with funding criteria.
7. Supervise external contractors and provide technical and strategic input to projects.
