We are currently recruiting for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our amazing team at our Tarmac Swinden Quarry, near Skipton, North Yorkshire. As well as Skipton, this is easily accessible from Burnley, Blackburn, Ripon, Harrogate, Bradford and surrounding areas. Role Responsibility Reporting directly to the Section Manager/Supervisor the duties of the Multi Skilled Operative will include the day-to-day operations of fixed and mobile plant. Your role as a Multi Skilled Operative will include: Operation of computer based fixed crushing and screening plant. Inputting data into app-based systems. Weighbridge and Rail operations. Mobile plant operations including Loading shovel and others. Working with other members of the team to ensure that customers get good quality material. Assisting the Supervisor with meeting daily/weekly production targets Ensuring Plant always conforms with safety requirements. Helping site to achieve Key performance indicators. Following Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies/ procedures and responsibilities Complete fixed and mobile plant Inspections Ensuring that Plant availability is maximised. Working to keep housekeeping around site to a high standard The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate for the role of Multi Skilled Operative will be willing to learn the sites operations in line with current company and legislative policies as well as possessing good communication skills and have a real desire in developing both operative and supervisory skills. To succeed in the role of Multi Skilled Operative we would expect a candidate to evidence: Be flexible and able to work as part of an effective Multi-Skilled Operative team Be self motivated and able to motivate other colleagues in the team Good timekeeping – reliable/ flexible as to the Units requirements Good communication skills – bringing problems to the attention of Line Management Full UK Driving Licence Basic IT skills Previous experience as a Multi Skilled Operative working in a Quarry would prove highly beneficial however this is not essential as training will be given to the right candidate.
