ABOUT THE ROLE
Due to successful company expansion, my client is recruiting permanently for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to form an integral part of the current Commercial Department. Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for managing costs with the goal of making as much profit as possible for the company on the projects you’ll be working on and ensuring delivery of payment whilst developing client relationships. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be involved in viewing and evaluating payments including site measurements as necessary and will undertake general surveying of projects as required including reviewing and pricing of variations and preparing valuations with Project Managers and the Commercial Manager.
REQUIREMENTS
In order to be considered for this position, you will need to be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or similar. Additionally, you must have a minimum of 2 years post graduate experience and this must have been gained whilst working for a civil engineering main contractor or specialist subcontractor in the UK. Additionally, due to project locations, you must hold a full UK driving license and live within a commutable distance from Southampton.

With regards to the salary on offer, this has been left negotiable as specifics will depend on previous experience and suitability however you can expect a basic salary from £32,000 – £36,000 per annum. You will receive 26 days annual leave, which is exclusive of bank holidays, and you will be enrolled on to the company pension scheme.
