The Project Engineer is responsible for the individual management of mechanical and electrical activities to the highest possible standard of quality, efficiency, and with minimal wastage.
Key Responsibilities:
1. The Overall Role
2. To ensure that all works are scoped with the client on-site using relevant resource.
3. Provide technical knowledge on the repair, refurbishment, or replacement of equipment & plant.
4. To ensure that estimates are completed on time in line with service level agreements.
5. Attendance of internal launch/scope meetings with associated departments.
6. Pre‐construction process plan - develop, implement, and monitor.
7. Attendance of external start‐up, site visit, and design meetings.
8. Arrange and attend technical meetings with clients, consultants, and sub‐contractors.
9. Management of agreed resources, budget, scope, and program with the site services team.
10. Produce commissioning plans in conjunction with the site services team.
11. Design and Customer Interaction
12. Liaise with internal design department to ensure awareness of contract requirements.
13. Arrange and attend meetings with clients, consultants, and sub-contractors.
14. Ensure drawings and documents, incoming and outgoing, are stored electronically and appropriately maintained.
15. Produce method statements and risk assessments and other H&S documents for the required tasks.
16. Approve Subcontractors method statements and risk assessments.
17. Handle day-to-day on-site installation and commissioning.
18. Attend Pre-contract meetings with Operations / Project Manager and subcontractors.
19. Manage sub-contracts and orders.
20. Attend progress meetings.
21. Produce the commissioning plan in conjunction with Operations / Project Manager.
22. Manage the commissioning activities.
23. Ensure documentation is in place for handover and signed off.
24. Producing HSEQ paperwork for submission to client.
25. Health and Safety
26. Compile relevant HSEQ documentation.
27. Carry out site inductions, toolbox talks, and accident reporting.
28. Liaise with HSEQ on relevant matters.
29. Report any accidents/incidents or near misses that occur.
30. Highlight any concerns of any breaches of company rules and document.
31. Ensure any non-compliance issues are documented and investigated.
Essential Competence Profile:
1. Previous experience working as a Mechanical Project Engineer.
2. NVQ Level 3 Engineering or HNC/HND.
3. Ability to cover East Midlands and East Anglia.
Desirable:
1. Ideally an NVQ or equivalence in the core role.
2. CSCS Card.
3. SMSTS.
Salary: 35-40K DEO
